Recipe: Elyse’s Turmeric Golden Milk Latte

Warm—and heal—yourself from the inside out with a mug of luscious turmeric golden milk latte. This antioxidant and vitamin-packed elixir is bursting with flavor and the inflammatory-fighting power of turmeric. It’s cold out there! Treat yourself to a steaming cup full of delicious healing.

Ingredients

2 cups coconut or almond milk

1 teaspoon fresh turmeric (without skin)

1 teaspoon fresh ginger (without skin)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 pinch of cayenne pepper

Small pinch of black pepper

Optional:

1 slice of lemon, with rind

1 tablespoon local honey (for a reduced sugar drink, try Stevia)

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Pour all ingredients into a Vitamix or blender and mix until smooth
  2. Pour into a small saucepan and bring to a light boil, whisking to combine ingredients.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Strain the milk if you have large pieces of ginger, cinnamon, peppercorns, etc.

Serves 2

Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
