Earn Continuing Education Credits with FMCA
As lifelong learners, FMCA students are always building their expertise and earning professional recognition for their work. To facilitate this, FMCA works with a variety of professional organizations to receive approval for Continuing Education. Below, you will find our current Continuing Education approvals. While we continue to expand this list, we cannot guarantee that your particular profession will be represented. As we gain more approvals, the organizations will be added to the list below. FMCA’s Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach program starting September 1, 2018:
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Approval applies to all coursework initiated prior to the expiration of approval on August 30, 2020. AHNA Approval # 1367.
FMCA Health Coaching programs starting February 2017, August 2017, and February 2018:
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
September 2018: FMCA will NOT submit for ICF Continuing Education for the September 2018 course.
The February 2017, August 2017, and February 2018 programs are accredited with the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a Continuing Coach Education (CCE) program.
February 2017 program: 45 hours Core Competencies, 7 hours Resource Development
August 2017 program: 33.5 hours Core Competencies
February 2018 program: 32.9 hours Core Competencies
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
FMCA Health Coaching Program has been approved by NASM for 2017 and 2018. Students who complete the FMCA Health Coach program can now receive 1.8 CEUs from NASM for continuing education credit.
Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA)
FMCA Health Coaching Program has been approved by AFAA for 2017 and 2018. Students who complete the FMCA Health Coach program can now receive 15 CEUs from AFAA for continuing education credit.
National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)
FMCA Health Coaching program will be accepted by NCBTMB for continuing education as follows:
Functional Medicine Coaching Academy Health Coaching Program- Home Study: 13 CEs/ Self Care
Functional Medicine Coaching Academy Health Coaching Program- Webinar: 16 CEs/Self Care
Approval Expires: 1/31/2021 (Last course eligible per this approval is September 2019)
MISSOURI BOARD OF PHARMACY
FMCA’s February 2018 program has been approved for continuing education by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, (Approved contact hours: 33 CE).
